Yuffie's father. Since Wutai was defeated by Shin-Ra, he hid his strength as a martial arts master. He expects 'good for nothing' Yuffie to return to Wutai with lots of Materia.

Overview
Godo was the once powerful and courageous leader of Wutai, but after Wutai's shameful downfall after being defeated by the Shin-Ra company during the great war, Godo's lack of inspiration and motivation seems to be his overpowering character trait.

Though he is a very powerful martial arts expert and a remains a physically strong and talented man, Godo has become a sort of weak man after losing all hope after the war and is rather ashamed of the way he is leading Wutai as a tourist town, but sees no other way. Yuffie, however, still calls him cowardly and good for nothing. It is not until you beat him in the five-storied pagoda that Godo approves of what Yuffie is doing with the Party, and he shows an inkling of motivation as he shouts that Yuffie should win the Planet's war and bring back Materia for the sake of restoring Wutai's glory.
